About Tsuga on the Ridge and Three Ponds

Tsuga on the Ridge offers the classic vacation escape… Beautiful views of the Blue Ridge Parkway and valley below are enjoyed from this well-appointed mountain top vacation home on seven wooded acres. The home borders National Forest land providing plenty of privacy and has a large open yard area, perfect for kids and dogs to run and play. Tsuga on the Ridge was the summer home of Burke Davis – an award-winning southern journalist, novelist, and nonfiction writer. He was best known for his popular war histories and biographies. He and his lovely wife Juliet Burnett Davis “re-claimed” two 1800s vintage log cabins, using them as bedroom wings of the modern central home. The kitchen, living and dining areas, one guest bedroom and bathrooms are located in the new construction which joins the two cabins. Three Ponds predates Tsuga by almost two decades and was designed as a small mountain getaway. With a 155 acre forest, a mountain top field, creeks, and of course, three fishing ponds, Three Ponds is a great place to explore while staying at Tsuga. To get to Three Ponds, walk east on Belcher Mountain Road, down the hill, and Three Ponds will be on your right.
